Winner will receive a new April Showers cartridge!! Prize will be shipped within 4 to 6 weeks after the announcement.

Ok, I decided to try this contest since I love going to the thrift store. You never know what you will find. So, off I went to the America's Thrift Store in search of something to repurpose for this contest. I found the perfect thing. I found an unusual sized photo album that has photo covers that are the perfect size to hold the 3x3 Cricut Circle calling cards. It was falling apart but I decided I would take it apart and recover it and add some decorations. Here are the before pictures.....

I took it completely apart.  I took the red cover off and replaced it with a pink vinyl cover that I made from wall pops.  I covered the inside with paper from DCWV Animal Crakers stack.  When I took the white plastic binding out, it was so old that some of the "teeth" broke.  I have not been able to find another one the correct size to replace it so I added some ribbon with dangling beads and circles to cover the broken pieces.  I used Gypsy font for the words Circle of Friends.  For the O in of, I used George and Basic Shapes and Storefront to make the O into the Cricut Circle logo.  I used Car decals for the two cricut heads on two of the prima flowers.  I added a little bling and here is the new Cricut Circle calling card album.....

I have two calling cards in the album that I received from ScrapHappyDeb and Momlady.  Thanks to both of them for allowing me to use them for the pictures.  I really enjoyed doing this project and it is the perfect thing to hold calling cards that I hope to receive from all of my circle friends.  Thank you for looking and don't forget to leave me a comment.

Birthday Cake

I made a cake for my mother-in-law for her birthday today.  I used the Cricut Cake to make the polka dots.  I made the bow by hand.  The polka dots and the bow are made from fondant. The icing is buttercream. So far, this has been the easiest cake that I have made.

I created the file on my Gypsy when I wasn't busy at work last night.  I LOVE my Gypsy.  Anyone who doesn't have one should really consider getting one.  I love being able to bring it with me and create files when I get an idea for a scrapbook layout or a cake design.

I really hope she likes it.  I took a picture with my cell phone and sent it to my husband.  He really liked it and will be bringing it to her when he gets off work.  Thank you for looking and don't forget to leave me some feedback.

Teacher Gift

As usual, I am late posting again.  I made a Crayola wreath for Lexi's teacher for Christmas.  I forgot to take a picture of it before I wrapped it so, I took a picture when she opened it at the Christmas party.  I got the idea from several blogs.  I don't know who the original creator was so, I can't honestly give someone credit for the idea.  I made the ruler, apple and bus with the cricut expression.  I also made the bow.  It was a fun project.

This is the one I made for Olivia's create teacher.  I made post it note holders for the other teachers.  These are easy, inexpensive and the kids love giving them to their teachers.

Thank you for looking.  I love feedback so, feel free to leave me some comments.
