Baby Scrapbook

I finally found time to work on some scrapbooks and learn how to use my Cricut Imagine.  Now that I have actually used the Imagine, I LOVE it!!!  I made two baby scrapbooks; one for my co-worker's daughter who had a beautiful baby boy in June and one for my sister whose baby is due in October but may give us a surprise appearance sooner.  I have to wait to see when he is going to come along before I can finish it because it includes a calendar.

A friend, Cassie or CraftyCassie from the cricut message board, was my inspiration.  I saw one that she did with her Imagine and the Nursery Tails cartridge.  I really liked the idea so, I gave it a try.  The size of the scrapbook is 8X8.  After doing two of these I have decided that I really like making this size.  I plan to make more of these.  They make great baby shower gifts.

Here is the one I finished for my co-worker's daughter....

I really enjoyed doing this scrapbook and can't wait to finish the one for my sister.  It will be exactly like this one but with a different scrapbook cover.  I really hope they like them as much as I liked making them.

Thank you for looking and please leave me a comment.  If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

After much prayer and consideration.....

....I am sad to announce that today was my last day as a scrapbook and paper-Ed instructor for Michael's Craft Store.  As you know, I am a full time mom of two beautiful daughters and a full time employee of the City of Biloxi.  I feel like I have been slacking in my duty as a mom and decided that my time is much better spent with my girls during my time off from my full time job.  There comes a time when some things just aren't  worth putting your effort into and that is when it is time to let those things go so, that is what I have done.  My girls are growing up too fast and I feel like I am missing out on their childhood.  As you probably know, I work night shift.  For those of you that work night shift, you know how precious time really is and how it feels like you live a totally separate life from the rest of the world.  With that being said, I have come to realize that the time with my girls is very precious.  I want to spend as much time as I can with them.  It hurts my heart every time Alexis says to me, "Mom, do you HAVE to go to work?  Can't you just stay home with me?"  Just recently she told me, "Mom, I like sleeping next to you.  I miss you when you are not here."  I felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest.  Anyway, I will miss my "hobby job" as scrapbooking instructor but I will no longer miss time with my girls.

"Our Week" dry erase board....

Someone on the Cricut message board made one of these and I loved the idea.  I am sorry I don't remember the name of the person who came up with the idea but, you know who you are so....thank you for such a great idea.

I used my Cricut Expression to cut the days of the week out of vinyl.  Here are the items I used...

Brown Cricut vinyl
4x6 collage picture frame from Tuesday Morning (I LOVE Tuesday Mornings!!!)
Cricut Lite Chore Chart cartridge for the days of the week
Cricut Jasmine cartridge for the word "week"
Cricut Cuttin' Up cartridge for the word "our"
Cloud Nine scrapbooking paper

I hung this on the side of my kitchen cabinet.  The dry erase pen is sitting on top of one of the frames.  I am going to add a velcro dot to the pen and to the side of the frame.

This is very simple to make and very affordable.  Walmart has the frames in oak and black for $10.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Cowgirl Tough Layout....

Here is the scrapbook layout that I did of the girls "riding" the bull at the PCA Rodeo Finals in January....

Sorry about the quality of the picture.  I took it with my cell phone because it was easier.  I was too lazy to walk to the other side of the house to get the good camera.  Now I have to decide if I am going to frame this one and hang it up or make a second page with other rodeo pictures and put them in an album.  I will update when I finally make up my mind.
Thank you for looking!!

Hot Air Balloon layout...

For the month of January Alexis' preschool is learning about the different types of transportation.  On Family Day, January 16, the parents were invited to visit the class.  We helped the kids make hot air balloons out of craft paper, pipe cleaners, and milk cartons.  It was a great experience for the parents and for the kids.  Alexis had so much fun that I decided to do a two page scrapbook layout.  I forgot to bring my camera but, took pictures with my cell phone.  They're not the greatest but worked fine for scrapbooking.

I got my inspiration for this layout from Jennifer of Creative Cricut Designs.  Here is a link to her blog and the layout that inspired me... http://www.creativecricutdesigns.blogspot.com/2011/08/balloon-rally-scrapbook-layout.html

Here are my layouts...

These pictures were also taken with my cell phone so, I hope you can  see them.  I have a bad habit of not journaling on my scrapbook layouts.  I decided that I would start attempting to do journaling this year.  It was actually easier than I thought it would be.

Thank you for checking it out and don't forget to go check out Jennifer's blog.  She is very talented and has some great layouts on her blog.
